lovely little diary packed full of entires relating to day to day life. The diarist does not giver her name, however there is a programme of music and theatre perfomred at the school in July 1891 and one performance has been underlined, a violin solo by Miss Mallam. The diary referes to violin lessons and so this may be the writer. An address label has been pasted to the front end page, 'The Manor House, Woodmansterne, nr Epsom', she also refers to walking through Halliford, when at her home. The diary she uses is Pettitt's Annual Diary for 1891, which is an engagement diary. Most days have entries. For some reason a lot of June and July has been left empty. The writing is small but most can be easily read. At the back she has written down the books she has read, with the dates she read them.Fascinating social document.
