424pp plus 32pp of publishers catalogue, 541pp, plus 32pp of publishers catalogue, illustrated 6 plates, plus vignettes to both title pages, pasted to front end page is a hand written letter, signed by author Charlotte Mary Yonge and dated 1895, volume one has front hinge split, tips of spine are frayed and there is rubbing along edge of spine with couple of small tears to cloth, there is the stamp of a name on the front end page and front paste down and gift inscription, end pages borwned but text overall clean, volume two ti[ps of spine rubbed and chipped, rubbing along edge of spine withseveral small tears plus tear of about one inch along hinge at foot of spine, crease in cloth down centre of spine, corners bumped, gift inscription and name stamp as in volume one, end pages browned, overall neat clean.
