'In time of war women will be called to do a great variety of work of national importance, and it is important so far as possible that they should prepare themselves in advance for the tasks they may be called upon to perform. The Women's Employment Federation in normal times is a careers advisor to women fo secondary education and distributes information on every type of training and employment. The purpose of the federation is to help women to make the best use of their individual gifts and abilites, and the following booklet has been prepared to give guidance in regard to emergency services. It is based upon the speeches delivered at a conference held on February 11th 1939.' from foreword.

89-140pp, colour pictorial cover shows woman form the W.A.F.S., which advertises an article entitled 'Let the Cap Fit', which details women's hair styles suitable for different military head wear, as part of the fashion section, also a section entitled 'Our women-folk in War time', staples are rusty and centre page is loose, there is a small grease stain effectin the top edge of 20 pages, browning to pagtes, tear of about an inch to bottom of spine.l
